BAILDON player-coach Robbie Hill has some good news and bad news for their supporters ahead of tomorrow’s Yorkshire Division Three derby at home to Aireborough.

The bad news is that Hill reckons that Baildon need to win three of their last five matches to stay in the ninth tier.

The good news is that he feels that they are putting out a team this weekend that can compete for 80 minutes, which hasn’t always been the case.

The second-from-bottom Jenny Laners are nine points from safety, and have more derbies to follow in second-placed Old Otliensians at home next Wednesday and at mid-table Leeds Modernians a week tomorrow.

After that come trips to Hemsworth (April 21) and Sheffield Medicals (April 28).

Hill said: “It is going to be a challenge to try and stay up, and we were disappointed with how we performed last time out in our 39-7 defeat at Castleford, where we played well for 50 minutes.

“But we have Nicky Lister, Zac Orrell and Matty Robinson available this weekend, and they are three very important players for us.

“We also have Andy Magee back, and when we have fielded our strongest sides we have had that strength in depth that we need to compete for 80 minutes.”

BRADFORD SALEM, who aren’t safe in Yorkshire Division One, reckon that anything that they can get from their home match against fourth-placed Middlesbrough will be a bonus.

“More targeted games are Old Rishworthians away and Hullensians at home,” explained Salem’s chairman Neil Klenk.

With the Bradford ARL cup finals postponed at Odsal this weekend, WIBSEY are hoping to include Sam Foulds, Jimmy Rogers and Brad Wright for their Yorkshire Division Four Premier double-header at Ossett.
