Bradford & Bingley, sitting joint top of National League Three North after two matches, have received a further boost.

Former England coach Brian Ashton is to take Tuesday night’s training session.

The evening is part of the Bees’ development programme for all their coach-es.

Bradford & Bingley’s director of coaching Nic Corrigan said: “We are delighted that Brian is visiting us for the night.

“As someone who has been able to learn off Brian, I am sure that the evening will be of great value and actually generate more questions than answers for our coaches.”

All coaches within the club will be able to watch the first team train under Ashton, while there will also be the opportunity to discuss his ethos, approach and views later on.

Ashton began his coaching career at Milan before moving to Bath, and after that came his job with Ireland and three with England (attack coach, national academy manager and head coach).

Made an MBE in 2008, Ashton has established SCD (Something Completely Different), which he bases all his ideas on.

His client list includes the RFU, the England and Wales Cricket Board and Rugby Academy New Zealand.

Bradford & Bingley are bidding for a third straight win at home to Penrith on Saturday.
