Three injuries in the first 15 minutes made a difficult task almost impossible as Wibsey lost 66-5 at Yorkshire Five leaders Hornsea.
Among those crocked were hooker Richard Hall and fly half James Sawyer with shoulder problems, and the visitors also lost a winger.
“Hornsea were the best side I have seen in my time as Wibsey coach, and there is no doubt that they will win the division,” said Dave Grayson.
“I gave my team a ‘roasting’ at half-time when we were 39-0 down but unfortunately we conceded another try in the opening minutes of the second half.”
Mark Gregson got Wibsey’s try and Scott Taylor was their man of the match.
