Former Wharfedale prop Peter Altham (Fylde) was part of the Lancashire team that completed a hat-trick of Bill Beaumont Cups (County Championship), and a record 21st title into the bargain, by defeating Hertfordshire 32-23 in the final at Twickenham.
Chris Johnson (Huddersfield) was on the bench for the winners.
