England, captained by Otley loanee Dominic Barrow, lost their under-18 FIRA/AER European Championship international 26-21 against Scotland at Headingley Carnegie.
Head coach John Fletcher’s side had led 21-13 at the interval but a spirited display from the visitors in the second half left England shell-shocked and nursing just their second defeat in three years.
Leeds Carnegie player Barrow was sin-binned in the second half as England’s errors mounted and they lost their way.
