Yarnbury 30, Keighley 32
A fast open game of Yorkshire Division One rugby complemented the sunny weather, and finished off the league season for both teams. Yarnbury started brightly with two well-taken tries for powerful winger Chris Flowers, fly half Laurence Smith adding the conversions and a penalty.
However, Alex Brown kept Keighley in the game with two penalties.
In the second half, the Keighley forwards raised their game and, after a series of drives up the middle of the field, scrum half Scott Dyson powered over, converted by Brown.
Yarnbury’s Smith and his opposite number Brown added to the score with a penalty each but Keighley forward pressure again paid dividends when young prop Craig Spencer was driven over, converted by Brown, who added two further penalties and a drop goal to his tally.
Yarnbury finished the game with a flourish, with a hat-trick try for outstanding winger Chris Flowers, and a further try for full back Andy Greaves, who also added the conversion.
