SCOTT Smith and Josh Tordoff both scored their first tries for leaders Wibsey, who kept their 100 per cent record with a 34-21 victory at third-placed Leeds Medics & Dentists in Yorkshire Division Four North West.

The hosts were late out of the changing rooms and had to be chivvied by the referee, but if it was a tactic it didn't work as the visitors were ahead by the ninth minute.

Nathan Marchant scored a try in the corner, while winger Robson Moore went over in the other corner five minutes later.

Wibsey's Ross Simpson was sin-binned for obstruction in the 21st minute and, just before he could come back on, Medics scored a converted try.

The visitors suffered their second yellow card two minutes after the interval when Luke Helliwell got a 10-minute rest for a high tackle, and the home side took advantage with a converted try to go 14-10 in front.

After a 46th-minute altercation, Luke Wilson became the third visitor to receive a yellow card, causing Wibsey to opt for stick-it-up-your-jumper rugby, rather than trying to match the home side in the champagne rugby stakes, and the tactic worked as James Brown scored a pushover try after 55 minutes, followed by one for Elliott Cousins five minutes later, which was converted by Andy Robinson.

Smith (66 minutes) and Tordoff (70) then got late tries, with Medics replying with a converted try in the last play of the game.

Prop John Bradbury was Wibsey's player of the match, closely followed by Tordoff and Brown.
