Bradford Salem's ten-match unbeaten run came to an end 15-5 at resurgent Scarborough.
Salem found life difficult in very heavy conditions and a lacklustre first-half performance saw them go behind 15-0 after conceding two tries.
After a half-time lecture from coach Craig Busby, Salem managed to lift their game in the second half. The Bradford pack started to control the ball at close quarters and the team generally played with a bit more passion.
Their endeavours were rewarded in the 50th minute when left winger Chris Luxton scored in the corner after good work from fly half Matt Booth and full back Richard Langhorn.
However, despite having the upper hand for the remainder of the game, the Heaton side were unable to breach the home defence again.
