The Rugby Football League are on the lookout for clubs to compete in their new Yorkshire Regional League.

The new competition will start next March after an interim season from September to November this year.

It will feature a Premier League with divisions split geographically into East and West and would sit at Tier Four of the sport’s pyramid structure.

The RFL’s director of participation and strategic partnerships David Gent said: “This new RFL-run competition is a very exciting opportunity for every Yorkshire rugby league club.

“The new league will comprise of teams currently playing in the Co-operative Rugby League Conference in Yorkshire and any other teams that wish to play in a summer-based competition.

“The results of the independent Four Seasons consultation with the community game highlighted widespread support for playing in a March to November structure and all interested clubs can be incorporated at the appropriate level in the new league.”

The deadline for expressions of interest to be returned to the RFL is Friday, June 17, and letters have already been sent out to all community rugby league teams in Yorkshire.
