WEST Bowling have moved into second after making it four victories in a row.

The Bradford-side visited top-of-the-table rivals Barrow Island in Division Two of the National Conference League.

A 28-20 victory saw Bowling stretch their advantage on Barrow to three points in the table.

The visitors were in control from the off, with a try each for Lewis Fraser, Lewis Galtress and Kieron Baker.

Two of those were added to by the boot of Harry Williams, taking Bowling into a 16-0 lead.

A penalty goal for Barrow then sparked the hosts into life.

From there, they scored 18 unanswered points, from three tries and conversions, to go 20-16 ahead.

Battle-hardened Bowling, who have got used to winning of late, weren't to be quietened though.

Joe Hammond bagged an all important try, with Williams adding the extras again, to go back ahead at 22-20.

It then became the "Williams Show" with the kicker converting his own try to secure the victory.

Bradford Dudley Hill had less joy, losing 32-16 away to strugglers Clock Face Miners.

Hill were hitting a bit of form recently, but came unstuck against the Miners thanks in part to a lack of discipline.

The visitors were well in the game come the break, at only 8-6 down.

But it was the second period where it all began to unravel.

Hill had two players sin-binned to begin and the hosts took advantage immediately, scoring and converting to go 14-6 ahead.

The visitors then seemed to lose their heads, when they were reduced to nine players, while losing 26-6.

Somehow Hill managed to score and convert with their ranks depleted.

They mustered another try to take their tally to 16, but couldn't clinch victory from the jaw's of defeat.

In Division Two of the Yorkshire Men's League, Wibsey Warriors fell short at home to powerhouses Ossett Trinity Tigers.

It was always going to be a tough ask, with Ossett only tasting defeat in one game all season so far.

There was no shame in Wibsey's effort, just losing out 34-20.

The hosts had four tries to their name - one each for Simon Kellett and Sam Foulds, with a double for Sam Wainwright.

Back in the National Conference League, Drighlington smashed Division Three bottom-side Salford City Roosters 56-4.

Jake Dearden was the man of the moment, scoring no less than four tries for Drigh.

Steve Meldrum always impressed with a hat-trick, while Michael Sanderson managed to convert six of Drigh's 10 tries.

The victory sees Drigh back on track after a winless streak of three games beforehand.
