ODSAL Sedbergh smashed Leeds Akkies in the Yorkshire Men's League Division Four to keep within touching distance of the top two.

The Bradford-based side secured a 50-16 victory on their visit to the Akkies, but the game looked very different early on.

In just under ten minutes, the hosts were 6-0 up thanks to a successful try and conversion.

It took until around the 21st minute mark before Odsal could get their names on the scoresheet, taking it to 6-4.

A quick-fire second, which was successfully converted, made it 10-6 in their favour and from there it was pretty much one-way traffic.

There were slim whispers of a comeback from the Akkies early in the second-half, having gone into the break 20-6 down.

But, Odsal ran riot in pursuit of the win with the score at 26-12.

Elsewhere in the division, Wyke Academy remain on four points, joint with four others including their benefactors at the weekend, Lambwath Lions.

The Lions won 36-6, with a Marc Goodwin try and Bradley Ellis drop-goal providing little consolation for Wyke.

Finally, it was a fourth loss of the season for Division Two Wibsey Warriors.

They took a trip to promotion-chasing Goole Vikings, but succumbed to a 28-18 loss, despite their best efforts.

Tries for Joshua Chamberlain, Callum Knight, and Jack Savage, followed up by three Jack Smith conversions, wasn't enough to stop the hosts grabbing the win.

Goole got double delight in the form of two tries each for James Donoghue and Michael Martinez.

That was added to by a single try for Marcus Daley, as well as an almost perfect four-out-of-five return for kicker Scott Turner.
