Bradford Dudley Hill ran a lacklustre Wigan St Judes outfit ragged in a seven try 38-10 romp to register their first win of the Kingstone Press National Conference Division Two campaign at Parry Lane.

The visitors knew that they were in for a torrid afternoon when Adam Jefferson powered onto a short offload and spun out of three tackles to plant the ball on the chalk, leaving his fellow prop Kyle Bateman an easy conversion.

The Hill pack, operating together as a very effective unit, forced the visitors to drop the ball as they tried to escape from their red zone, allowing second row forward Callum Wilkins to put loose forward Andy Walker en route to the sticks.

Stand-off Elliott Cousins had an effort ruled out for shepherding before Hill full back Aiden Batey pulled off a stunning tackle to prevent the Judes loose forward Josh Hill dead in his tracks with the try line beckoning.

The Wigan side swung the ball out to their giant prop Aaron Smith following a quick play the ball and his momentum took him to the whitewash for a converted touchdown to signal a mark of resistance.

But the Hill focus remained intact with Wilkins again proving the provider when he slipped a pass for the supporting Batey to scamper over and Cousins landed the extras for a convincing 18-6 half-time lead.

Home coach Paul Baxter’s huge grin gave a clear indication of his feelings during the interval but it soon disappeared when St Judes man mountain Smith used his bulk to batter his way for his second try.

But normal service was resumed when substitute packman Ben Sheridan spotted a narrow gap to dive over from the ruck.

Cousins made sure of the extras before the best try of the game came on the hour mark when centre Dan Lee out-ran allcomers on the sprint to the line from halfway.

Cousins celebrated his return to the fold from Wibsey Rugby Union Club by pouncing on a loose ball behind the line when the visitors failed to react.

Lee then bagged a well-deserved brace when he once again showed his speed to cross in the corner, thereby ensuring Hill collected the spoils.

Victory set up a mouth-watering home clash against West Bowling on Saturday.

Ryan Hunkin's side claimed a 54-12 win at home to Clock Face Miners at the weekend.
