AFTER home victories over Oulton Raiders and Shaw Cross Sharks lifted them off the bottom of the table, Bradford Dudley Hill face three testing away games in Kingstone Press National Conference League Division One.

A derby at leaders Thornhill Trojans tomorrow is followed by a visit to Lock Lane, who are currently fourth, a week today, and a game at Pilkington Recs (now eighth) on Saturday, June 2.

“The target is to win one of those three,” admitted Hill’s first-team manager Steve Wright.

Hill have Andy Walker and Neil Wall available for this weekend, but then suspensions kick in from the 32-6 defeat at Leigh Miners’ Rangers on April 28.

Wright explained: “Neil represented himself at the disciplinary hearing and got two matches, but Andy was not there and got three matches.

“However, Leigh seemed to get away scott free, apart from a fine, for their part in the brawl, and we may have to look at making some signings to cover for the loss of Neil and Andy.”

West Bowling, who have no game this weekend, lost 44-16 at Division Two leaders Stanningley last weekend, but led 8-0 after tries by Richard Lumb and Jake Green (pictured).

However, it proved a false dawn, and the game slipped away from the visitors, who had Kyle Moore sent off and another player sin-binned

Bowling coach Glenn Barraclough said: “Stanningley are a good side and came back at us, and it was difficult enough to face them with 13 men, let alone 11.”

While some of the Bowling players are having “a bonding weekend in Benidorm”, fifth-placed Odsal Sedbergh are in Division Two action tonight in the Yorkshire Men’s League at Greetland All Rounders, with the visitors having the chance of replacing their opponents in third.

In Division One, Queensbury have the chance to go top if they can win at fourth-placed Hunslet Club Parkside tomorrow, while in Division Two, winless Wibsey Warriors are at unbeaten leaders West Hull.

Fellow 100 per centers Wyke and visitors Dearne Valley Bulldogs meet in Division Five.
