With the majority of local games falling foul of the weather, Wyke found an oasis at York Acorn in the Pennine League.
The black and whites won 26-18 to keep second spot in Division Three thanks to some excellent defence from influential loose forward Simon Owen and substitute Paul Bapty.
It was nip and tuck at 14-12 to Wyke at the break following tries from scrum half Andy Leek and centre Paul Coates. But flying wingman Shaun Godfrey and unstoppable heavyweight prop James Wild added further touchdowns and a five-goal tally from stand-off Craig Hillam did the rest.
Wibsey ended Division Six rivals Whitworth Spartans' unbeaten home record 8-4 thanks to an incredible 39 tackles from tireless defender Joe Harbon.
