Bulls booked their place in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup but not without a real scare.

Hosts Keighley Cougars were a real match for their higher-ranked visitors, who edged home by 14-12.

Man of the match

Steve Crossley. He led from the front with some bone-crunching tackling and was always at heart of Bulls’ attacks.

Tactics

Ethan Ryan continued at full-back as Brandon Pickersgill came back in at stand-off alongside Rowan Milnes. Dalton Grant made his first appearance of the season on the wing, while forward Oliver Wilson also made his season bow.

Moan of the match

The crowd number of 1,881 was perhaps a little less than expected for such a huge derby tie, but maybe it being Mother’s Day had something to do with the empty spaces in the stands.

Moment of the match

Elliot Minchella’s 67th minute penalty, which was awarded after Cougars’ Will Cooke was adjudged to have interfered despite being on the floor.
