THACKLEY AFC have confirmed that manager Jamie Price and assistant Josh Walsh have committed their futures to the Dennyboys and will remain in charge of the team, until at least the end of next season.
Thackley chairman Ben Oliver told the club website: “We are absolutely delighted that Jamie and Josh have agreed to continue leading the team into next season.
“They came into Thackley during a period of huge transition and have shown tremendous commitment, professionalism and resilience throughout.
“The work they have done to build a competitive, youthful squad in such a short time has been outstanding.
“Their positive attitude, particularly in difficult circumstances, has been a real credit to both themselves and the club.
“We firmly believe the foundations they have put in place this season give us something strong to build upon.
“We are excited to see the continued development of this talented group of players with another year of Northern Counties East League Premier Division experience behind them.”
Price said: “I’m really pleased to be continuing the journey with Thackley AFC.
“From the moment Josh and I arrived, we’ve felt supported by everyone connected with the club, and we’re proud of the progress that’s been made both on and off the pitch.
“There’s still plenty of hard work ahead, but we truly believe in the direction we’re heading and the potential within this young squad.
“We’re excited for what next season can bring and we can’t wait to keep building.”
But there was a less positive update from management at Brighouse Town AFC, who sit in the Northern Premier League East Division relegation zone.
First-team coach Danny Frost told the club website that there are issues on and off the field.
He said: “Results haven’t matched performances on the pitch and especially recently when we’ve come up against top of the league opposition, the quality of other teams has definitely shown.

“But we are still within a chance of staying up with plenty of football to be played which due to the below is some achievement.
“The past few months have been hard and no more so than recently, when we’ve been told that our budget has been cut in half and all the players have had to take pay cuts.
“The budget itself was already the lowest in the league and now it doesn’t even touch Step Five (NCEL etc) budgets.
“However, every player agreed to stay and that shows the group we have right now, players who care about playing for the club.
“We need you Brighouse fans more than ever, because attendances have slipped this season and our main source of income comes from gate receipts, the half time raffle, golden goal, food and drink sales and sponsorship/donations.
“While the income isn’t coming in like usual, the weekly costs of the club are still in play including player wages and utilities.”
