THE wintry weather decimated the non-league football programme over the weekend, with the likes of Bradford (Park Avenue), Eccleshill United and Thackley all seeing their games postponed.
With Bradford City’s League One fixture against Rotherham also frozen off, it meant the only footballing action of note in and around the Bradford District came at Myra Shay, an hour of it anyway.
Albion Sports were hosting Bottesford Town in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, sat just three points above the relegation zone and desperate for a win.

The goal arrived on 15 minutes, and was the only one of the first half, but Albion doubled their lead just after the interval courtesy of Felipe Castello.
Jake Brown quickly halved the deficit, but that proved to be virtually the last action of the match.
Despite being an artificial surface, the Myra Shay had begun to freeze in parts, with players on both sides starting to slip over with increasing regularity.
The officials rightly decided play was unsafe to continue, with the match officially abandoned after 57 minutes.

There were some matches played in NCEL Division One, but Route One Rovers, who were not due to play anyway, remain 11th regardless.
With no matches in the Northern Premier League East Division, Avenue, Silsden and Brighouse Town remain unaffected.
Results elsewhere were kind to Guiseley in the NPL Premier Division, keeping them six points clear of the relegation zone.
Three games went ahead in that division, the same as in the North West Counties Football League First Division North, where Steeton ply their trade.
The Chevrons had a free weekend regardless, but the other results have left them six points off the play-offs now.
