Mid-table Liversedge’s penultimate game of the season came last night, a 2-0 home defeat to Belper Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
But there was a much more important result 24 hours earlier, and one that could be seriously damaging for Brighouse Town.
Grantham Town’s 2-1 win at Sheffield on Wednesday night secured the visiting side’s safety, leaving a simple final-day equation for Brig.
They have to win, and Bridlington Town must lose, or else they will be relegated.
