WE are down to the final four of the West Riding County Cup, with Guiseley our only representatives remaining.

Their semi-final at Knaresborough Town takes place tomorrow night, and whoever wins that clash will be the first side to make the showpiece.

The other semi is between Pontefract Collieries and Wakefield AFC, with that taking place at the former’s Hunters Stadium on Tuesday, April 9.

Pontefract earned themselves that home semi-final by beating cup holders Campion in the pair’s last-eight clash at the end of February.

Campion were the only Bradford side to get that far, having beaten Brighouse Town 1-0 in the last-16.

The other quarter-finals saw Guiseley beat Ossett United 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, while Wakefield won 3-1 at Tadcaster Albion.

But all of the other three semi-finalists will be extremely wary of Knaresborough, who thumped hapless hosts Harrogate Railway Athletic 6-1 in their last-eight tie.

The Women’s County Cup semi-finals have already been played, with Leeds Modernians surprisingly beating Leeds United 3-1 and hot favourites FC Halifax Town crushing Altofts 8-0.

Halifax won the competition last season under their previous guise of Brighouse Town Women, and it will be a huge surprise if they do not retain the cup this year.
