ALL of our non-league teams are now out of the FA Cup, following replay defeats for Bradford (Park Avenue) and Farsley Celtic in midweek.

But thanks to an unusual request, the famous old competition continues to have an impact on Thackley.

The Bradford side were due to be in action against Emley next Tuesday, with the Northern Counties East League Premier Division clash having already been moved from today due to FA Vase action.

But Emley face a huge FA Cup third qualifying round game at Alfreton Town next Saturday, with the Kirklees side the lowest-ranked side left in the competition.

And because of that historic occasion looming, Emley have asked that their game with Thackley is postponed, to give them more time to prepare.

The NCEL have approved that request, with a new date for the fixture to be announced in due course.

It is more disappointing news for Thackley this week, after the sad departure of long-serving centre-back Kris Hargreaves.

He has left to pursue opportunities for more playing time, having made 345 appearances for the Dennyboys in a 13-year spell at the club.
