ALBION Sports breezed through their FA Vase first qualifying round tie yesterday.

The Bradford side are on a roll, having won all three of their Northern Counties East League Premier Division games so far this season, including a 7-2 thumping of rivals Eccleshill United last time out.

And visiting Billingham Town were no match for them in the cup yesterday either, the hosts winning 5-0 at Horsfall.

Quickfire goals from Thomas Ponter and Lewis Waddington put them 2-0 up, and even the first-half dismissal of Hass Gorji failed to knock the team off their stride.

Ten-man Albion made it 3-0 just before the break courtesy of Elvind Johnsen, with Waddington and Robbie Fox adding further goals after the interval.

Silsden are also through, second-half strikes from Ellis Hudson and Casey Stewart seeing them defeat visitors Newcastle Blue Star 2-1.

The Cobbydalers are in form, having handed Campion a first league defeat only a few days earlier.

And the Red and Blacks suffered again on Friday in the cup, as they were destroyed 6-0 by a superb Whickham side.

Thackley are out too, after losing 3-0 at Heaton Stannington.

It was an end-to-end, but goalless first half, and while the Dennyboys had a brief let-off when Heaton missed a penalty, the hosts scored three times in the final quarter of the game to go through.

Route One Rovers had a terrible afternoon in the Vase, losing 6-1, missing two penalties, and having captain Anees Younis sent off.

Steeton went 1-0 up early on through a Louis Fialdini header at Boldon CA, but their opponents equalised just before the break, then scored a penalty deep into second-half injury-time to dump the Chevrons out of the cup.

In the Northern Premier League East Division on Saturday, Liversedge were beaten 1-0 at Bridlington, but a scintillating first-half performance from Brighouse Town saw them beat Grantham Town 4-2.

Guiseley let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 with Lancaster City in the NPL Premier Division, while Farsley Celtic recorded the same scoreline at home to Tamworth in National League North.
