A KAYLE Price brace saw Silsden inflict defeat upon Campion for the first time this season on Tuesday evening.

Since promotion to the NCEL Premier Division, Lee Ashforth’s side had won all four of their opening fixtures, however Silsden proved a step too far in the derby.

Campion have now dropped to 2nd place in the table, after Knaresborough Town’s impressive 4-2 victory over Garforth Town on Tuesday.

Silsden’s opener came in the 8th minute of the contest, with Price tapping home at the back post following some great footwork from Ellis Hudson.

In what was an entertaining first half, Campion then levelled through Marcus Day; the striker running on to a lofted pass, before tucking the ball beyond the reach of Kyle Trenerry in the Silsden goal.

However, the home side would strike the winning goal just before the break, as Price placed an inch-perfect lob into the back of the Campion net to send the home crowd into jubilation; 2-1 FT.

Elsewhere in the NCEL Premier Division, Thackley fell to a 2-1 defeat at Golcar United on Tuesday.

A Buddy Cox quickfire brace in the opening ten minutes of the fixture resulted in the hosts collecting all three points, despite a late Liam Hudson consolation strike.

In the NWCFL, Route One Rovers put on another fine display to score four goals yet again, just like they did on Saturday.

Likewise, Zakariya Khan again caught the eye scoring a brace as Rovers cruised to a 4-2 victory at Nelson.

Elsewhere, Tom Smith was at the double as Ilkley Town collected a 3-0 win at home to Shelley, while a Jack Lynn goal earned Steeton a 1-1 draw at home to Garstang.

In the Northern Premier League East, Liversedge got their first win of the season with a thumping 5-0 victory at home to Newton Aycliffe.

Goals from Laurence Sorhaindo (X2), Alex Wollerton, Kurt Harris and Jack Hardacre eased the hosts to the three points.
