ECCLESHILL United won the final Bradford non-league derby of the season last night, as they edged out rivals Albion Sports 1-0.

Visiting Albion had their chances, reflected by the fact Ed Wilczynski was named Eccleshill's man of the match, but they were unable to put any of them into the net.

Instead it was the hosts who took victory, as Luke Sidaway scored the winner 10 minutes into the second half.

The win moved Eccleshill above Handsworth, guaranteeing them a 15th-placed finish.

They have one more fixture left, at lowly Bottesford Town on Saturday.

Albion's season is over, and they will finish 11th, unless Bradford District rivals Silsden overtake them with a five-goal win at home to second-bottom Goole on Saturday.

Goole are joining rock-bottom Yorkshire Amateur in going down, barring a miraculous 24 goal swing on the final day between themselves and Bottesford, but Silsden have problems of their own.

They are on a nightmare 13-game winless run, which was extended last night with a 2-1 home defeat against Barton Town.

The Cobbydalers took an early lead through Joe Crosby, but Ben Hinchliffe levelled the scores just before the break, then Daniel North netted Barton's winner midway through the second half.
