ECCLESHILL United and Silsden are both seeing promising seasons start to fall away.

The Northern Counties East League Premier Division pair both lost again last night, with the pair now having won only one game each since the turn of the year.

Eccleshill's victory came in the FA Vase fourth round though, a competition they finally bowed out of after a superb run on Saturday, losing in the last-16 to Atherstone Town.

They have not won a league game since the end of November and have now slumped to 15th.

Their latest defeat came in a West Yorkshire derby at home to Golcar United, Slater Barkham-Barnes scoring the only goal of the game for the visitors three minutes before half-time.

The 1-0 win for Golcar sees them move above Eccleshill's great rivals Thackley and up to 12th.

Silsden are having a better league season than all of the other Bradford District clubs in the division, but their promotion dreams are now realistically over.

After losing 3-1 at Handsworth at the weekend, they crashed to a dreadful 4-2 home defeat at second-bottom Bottesford Town last night.

Victory was vital for Bottesford, who are now just five points from safety, and it was their first since Bonfire Night.

Jonathan Nyantou opened the scoring for the visitors after 31 minutes, though Cobbydalers man Jake Maltby curled in a low finish from the edge of the box to level instantly.

Mason Ellender fired home the loose ball after Luke Ayris was tackled in the box to restore Bottesford’s lead.

Clayton Bryant headed home a corner just after the break to give Bottesford a two-goal advantage, but Silsden responded through a Normanton penalty after Joe Crosby had been brought down in the box.

But Joe Simpson finished a one-on-one chance midway through the second half to make it 4-2.

Ellender was dismissed late on following an altercation with Jacob Smith, with Smith himself sent off soon after when a late challenge brought him a second yellow card.

After just one win in their last five games, Silsden, in seventh, are now a massive 16 points off second-placed Winterton Rangers, who occupy the sole promotion play-off spot.

In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Guiseley's remarkable recovery from a terrible start to the season goes on.

They are now just three points off the play-offs, after a vital 1-0 win at Matlock Town last night, who are also part of that chasing pack with the Lions.

Jameel Ible scored the only goal of the game after just three minutes, the centre-back on a hot streak after also netting in Guiseley's 4-0 win over Stafford Rangers on Saturday.

Finally, in National League North, Farsley Celtic are finally out of the relegation zone after a magnificent 2-1 win at fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic.

The Celts were sensational in the first half, and led 2-0 at the break through goals from Tom Allan and Luke Parkin.

They came under some pressure in the second half, with Ciaran McGuckin halving the deficit around the hour mark.

But they held on to secure the three points, meaning they are now a point clear of danger.
