TENTH-TIER Campion are into the last-four of the West Riding County Cup after a stunning 4-2 win at last year's losing finalists Brighouse Town.

A pulsating match was level heading into the final seven minutes, before a quickfire Mark Ferguson brace sent the visitors through.

Campion made a bright start, with former Brighouse defender Dan Illingworth heading them in front after 17 minutes.

The hosts had a chance to level soon after when they were awarded a penalty, but Campion keeper Brad Emmerson saved Jack Boyle's spot-kick.

Brig were made to pay for that miss, as Campion captain Aidan Kirby doubled their lead on the half-hour mark.

The Red and Blacks took that two-goal lead into the break but were decidedly less comfortable when Emmerson spilled a cross on 58 minutes, allowing Myron Gibbons to pull one back for Brighouse.

Aiden Walker then headed the hosts level with just under 20 minutes to go, with the ball adjudged to have crossed the line despite being hacked clear by a Campion defender.

But Ferguson had the final say, producing a stunning piece of skill to befuddle his marker before finding the net on 83 minutes, before scoring again just moments later.

Campion are through to the last-four along with Barnoldswick Town, who beat Golcar United 3-1 last night, with the other two quarter-finals yet to be played.

Albion Sports also had a great away day in the cup last night, beating Shirebrook Town 2-0 in the Northern Counties East League League Cup third round.

Tom Ponter headed the visitors in front after 33 minutes, before a cushioned pass set up Zak Khan to sweep home their second just after the break.

Albion had chances to grab a third, Tabish Hussain hitting the post after some great individual play and Hass Gorji forcing a fine save out of Shirebrook stopper Josh Watson, but they still had more than enough in the tank to beat their opponents.

Thackley hosted Guiseley in a friendly, losing 3-0 after goals from Callum Chippendale, Angus Chapman and Lewis Hey.

Meanwhile, Farsley Celtic grabbed a vital 2-1 home win over Buxton in National League North, Bradford City loanee Kian Scales and Jimmy Spencer netting first-half goals for the hosts.

Sam Osborne's goal for Buxton after 64 minutes proved to be no more than a consolation, with the victory meaning Farsley are now just two points from safety.
