THACKLEY leapt up to 10th in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division on Saturday, winning a gripping contest 2-1 against visiting Frickley Athletic.

The end-to-end match saw Thackley establish a two-goal lead with just under 20 minutes left, courtesy of Aidan Chippendale and Lewis Waddington.

But Alhassane Keita soon pulled one back on the counter attack, and Thackley had to survive a late onslaught to ensure they claimed the three points.

But Frickley broke down the right from a Thackley corner with 10 minutes to go, with Keita turning home the ball when it was cut back to him.
