THACKLEY and Albion Sports played out an exciting 2-2 draw in Group B of the Yorkshire Trophy in midweek at Dennyfield.

Simon Poole missed a sitter early on for the hosts before Tom Greaves rattled the crossbar, so it was no surprise when the Dennyboys went in front.

Ben Grech-Brooksbank's corner was flicked home by Kris Hargreaves, with the ball just crossing the line.

But Albion grew into the game before the break, hitting the bar and having a goal ruled out for offside.

In the second half, Albion levelled after an hour courtesy of Eisa Faulding following a well-worked corner, before a trialist put them ahead with 20 minutes left, tapping home after a low ball in from the right wing.

But Greaves flicked the ball past a defender then drilled a beauty into the bottom corner to equalise.

Albion kept out Lewis Waddington and Kieran Suddards late on to secure a share of the spoils.

Thackley have one point from their opening two Trophy games, with Albion the same.

Campion look well set to go through from that group though.

Having beaten Albion 3-2 in their opener, they downed Yorkshire Amateur 3-1 in midweek to sit on maximum points from their first two games.

In Group A, Brighouse Town beat Swallownest 2-1, bouncing back from their opening game defeat to Garforth Town.

Eccleshill United went down 1-0 in a pre-season friendly at Shelley, while Silsden fought back with two goals in the closing minutes to grab a 2-2 draw against Nostell Miners Welfare.

Liversedge edged out Golcar United 1-0, while Steeton were thumped 4-0 at Marley by Colne.

Guiseley were beaten 2-1 at Nethermoor by a Barnsley XI, while Farsley Celtic crushed Club Thorne Colliery 5-0.
