ECCLESHILL United have appointed former Guiseley and Bradford (Park Avenue) defender Danny Lowe as their new assistant manager.

Lowe links up with old Avenue team-mate Ryan Toulson at the Mitton Group Stadium, with the latter appointed as player/manager of the club earlier this month.

After his move to the club was confirmed, Lowe said on Twitter: "I'm excited and looking forward to the opportunity of working with Ryan and for a good club like Eccleshill.

"Ryan and myself have known each other for many years and have played at a lot of clubs together, where we have enjoyed success and promotions.

"We know how each other work and have the same views and approach to football, so when he asked me if I would like to come and join him it was a no-brainer.

"We both are ambitious and we know this is a great opportunity for us both, so I'm looking forward to working with the players and the club to help them achieve their ambitions and help the club progress."

Lowe played for Guiseley under current Avenue boss Mark Bower, helping them to a Conference North play-off final win over Chorley.

He also famously scored a late equaliser against Solihull Moors to ensure survival on the final day of the 2016/17 National League season, with York going down instead.

Lowe joined Avenue in 2018, who under Bower's guidance, reached the National League North play-offs for a second successive season.

The 38-year-old also turned out for Halifax Town, Scarborough Athletic and Emley during his career.
