LIVERSEDGE had their game at Pickering Town in the NPL East Division called off just before kick off on Saturday.

And that meant their exciting new signing will have to wait to make his debut.

Sedge already have a fearsome forward line, containing the likes of Joe Walton and Oliver Fearon, but they have now snapped up Gainsborough Trinity striker Declan Bacon.

Jonathan Rimmington's side lost top spot to Marske United at the weekend, with the North-East side winning their game 4-0 against Frickley Athletic, so Bacon and Sedge will have to wait until this Saturday to try and go back to the summit, when they host Cleethorpes Town.

Funnily enough, third-placed Cleethorpes are in league action tonight, at Sedge's local rivals Brighouse Town.

As for teams fighting at the other end of their respective divisions, Guiseley did not get chance to move further clear of the National League North drop zone at the weekend, as their home game with Blyth Spartans was postponed due to the adverse weather conditions.

The Lions go again tonight, as they host Brackley Town, in a league game which might see their new loan signing from Mansfield Town, striker James Gale, make his debut.

Finally, Steeton announced the impressive signing of midfielder Jordan Townend from Golcar United before their game at St Helens Town, but he wasn’t named in the matchday squad.

The struggling Chevrons could have done with him playing, as they slumped to a woeful 4-1 defeat at the rock-bottom Merseysiders.

Steeton can try to bounce back when they play again tonight.

They host Ilkley Town in the NWCFL First Division Cup first round, with Campion entertaining Bury AFC in the same competition tomorrow.

Two more Bradford sides are in action tonight too, with Thackley hosting Albion Sports in a derby in the NCEL Premier Division.
