Nikola Jokic created a truly remarkable climax to his Denver Nuggets side’s important match in the NBA, but one moment of inspiration sadly didn’t count.

With just five seconds left on the clock the 23-year-old Serbian was fouled outside the arc but managed to make his three-pointer as he fell backwards.

Unfortunately for Jokic, whose 31.3 three point percentage this season is his lowest so far in his career, the remarkable no-look basket was ruled out by the referee due to the foul.

The seven-foot Serb went on to score the resulting free-throws, however, scoring three in a row in the final seven seconds of the game to deliver the Nuggets’ a 106-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

The match-winning final seconds capped off a stunning performance by Jokic, who notched 23 points, 11 rebounds and provided 15 assists, leaving him with 16.7 points-per-game so far this season, his best to date.

It was a sixth victory in a row for the Nuggets, who have emerged as title candidates, sitting top of the NBA’s Western Conference while the Raptors are top of the Eastern Conference.
