CAMPION have secured the services of St Kitts and Nevis international Zeph Thomas for the run-in as they look to secure a promotion place in Division One of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

The forward, who began his career with Rotherham United, played abroad in both the USA and Belgium and also had a spell in the Scottish League before returning to the area and playing for National League outfit Harrogate Town.

The signature of Thomas is a feather in Campion’s cap and boss James Bicknell is hoping he will add a fresh impetus to the club’s push back up towards the play-off places.

Bicknell said: “We’re delighted to welcome a player of Zeph’s quality to the club and it’s a bit of a coup for us really.

“Zeph was with Glossop North End in the Evo-Stik League Division One North but – basically – he’s a Bradford lad and he’s come home. He’s just set himself up in business here in the city and he wants to be based locally.”

Campion are due to visit AFC Emley tomorrow but, like the vast majority of other matches, it looks in doubt due to the weather.
