BRIGHOUSE Town have been dealt a fresh blow in their survival bid after wide midfielder Ferdinand Annor left the club.

Annor started three games for Town in Division One North of the Evo-Stik League last month, including the exciting 3-3 draw against Bamber Bridge.

However, the Frenchman had applied for a working visa earlier in the season and was looking to leave the country for a fresh start, given the chance.

His application was recently accepted and he has decided to swap West Yorkshire for much warmer climes as he seeks to start a new life on the east coast of Australia in Brisbane.

Annor's departures comes at a bad time for Brighouse, who are in severe danger of being relegated.

They are currently six points off the drop but Ossett Albion, who are second from bottom, have four games in hand.

Town have lost four of their last five games and desperately need a result away to mid-table Clitheroe tomorrow to arrest their current slump.

Their defensive record this season is a concern, with only rock-bottom Goole AFC having conceded more goals.

If they can address that issue, it should increase their chances of survival.
