YORKSHIRE have edged ahead against Surrey at The Oval, courtesy of three wickets in nine balls during a rain-affected second morning. of the Specsavers County Championship Division One clash.
David Willey, with two, and Steve Patterson shared the trio of scalps taken without addition to the score as the hosts slipped from 121-2 to 121-5, with Aaron Finch falling for 52.
Surrey have since reached lunch at 164-5 from 49.4 overs, with rain stopping playing at 12.20pm.
Willey bowled Zafar Ansari with a yorker for 40 in the 40th over before Patterson had Finch caught at short cover in the 41st.
Willey returned in his next over to get Jason Roy caught behind at the second attempt by Andrew Hodd.
Steven Davies reached 29 not out to lead a counter-attacking stand of 43 in 8.2 overs with Ben Foakes before the rain came.
