DIVISION Two front runners Tong Park Esholt and Addingham are the only clubs in the Aire-Wharfe League that go into tomorrow’s round five defending a 100 per cent record.

Park appear to have a well-balanced side. Fawad Maqsood and Gareth Wilkinson have been consistent in the batting – Wilkinson currently averaging 237 having only been dismissed once. In attack, Muhammad Z Khan and Mahir Ali pose a formidable threat.

They should be too strong for a Colton side who have yet to suggest they are likely to bounce straight back after relegation and who they knocked out of the Waddilove Cup last weekend.

Addingham have also looked strong throughout and in Australian Alex Hentschke have clearly discovered a match-winner.

They face a tougher test with the visit of Saltaire who have quickly settled into the second tier after promotion with only a second-week defeat by Hall Park blotting their copybook so far.

Hall Park have made an uneven start to the season and their chance of being part of the promotion mix come September will be clearer after tomorrow’s visit by Collingham for whom Toby Jacklin has already taken 17 wickets and will test any batting line-up.

At the other end of the table, Steeton are already in danger of being cut adrift and need a big improvement against Kirkstall, while Olicanian, skittled out for 77 last week, take on Leeds Modernians.

Just above the bottom spots, Calverley and Ben Rhydding go head to head, both hoping to build on last week’s first win.

Division One leaders Burley and Otley will expect to keep ahead of the pack with wins over Horsforth and Bilton respectively.

Guiseley followed up a first league win last week by knocking Bilton out of the cup and will be seeking to keep that form going when they entertain Follifoot.

Rawdon, who have made a solid start to the season, face North Leeds who have gone off the boil after taking an early lead in the table.

After notching their first win when Paul Dover’s 6-20 spell saw Horsforth dismissed for 120, bottom side Ilkley will have more of a spring in their step when they entertain Pool.

It is hard to see anything but a comfortable win for Division Three leaders Green Lane when they travel to league newcomers Old Leodiensians who have still to register a win.

Harden visit the other new boys Shadwell, who have yet to score more than 46 in an innings.

Skipton entertain second-placed New Rover while Menston host Alwoodley, both sides looking for some consistency.

After breaking their duck with a win over Old Leos in which Shane Marshall picked up his second five-wicket haul, Thackley now face Bolton Villas who themselves have bowlers in Sam Lawrence and Junaid Bashir who can turn a game.
