Salem Athletic now have a 16-point lead at the top of GROUP A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League following a narrow seven-run win over Cambing.

Batting first, Salem made 169, Mohammed Muzzafar scoring 51, with Hameed Khan taking 5-42 for the home side. In reply, Cambing were all out for 162, Amir Shah scoring 83.

Omars move up to third after their win over Hallfield. Qamar Sadiq and Shabbir Hussain both scored 57 in Omars’ 239 all out. Hallfield were then dismissed for 130.

Bradford Gymkhana and Girlington are level in fourth after a day of contrasting fortunes.

Gymkhana had a narrow ten-run win over BPR – Babar Hafeez restricting BPR with 6-39 – while Girlington lost to Heaton by six wickets. Waqas Butt took 6-18 as Girlington were all out for 143, then Shoukat Ali scored 73 not out as the score was passed with four wickets down.

In GROUP B, new club Interlink lead the way by 18 points thanks to their eight- wicket win over Odsal.

Batting first, Odsal made 81, with Paul Cuthbertson scoring 56.

Girlington are second after making the top score of the day with 254-6. They had the highest scorer of the day too in Tariq Rashid, who smashed 143. In reply Yorkshire LPS were all out for 63.

BPR defeated Heaton by 31 runs. Tahir Abbas scored 42 in BPR’s 116 all out, Mohammed Shahzad claiming 6-10 for Heaton, who were then dismissed for 85 (M Aqib Shah 5-20).

VVS Laxman are still looking for their first win, having to settle for a winning draw over Salem Athletic. Batting first, Laxman made 170, with Mukash Patel scoring 51, Salem closing just two runs short of their total on 168-6, Tahir Rashid making 51.

In GROUP C, Bowling Baptists and Cross Roads & Daisy Hill are joint top, 25 points clear of third place.

Bowling Baptist defeated West Bowling by eight wickets after dismissing them for 45 – Ghazanfar Bashir claiming 6-10 – while Daisy defeated Mandhata by nine wickets. Chris Harley took 6-33 as the home side were all out for 74, then Ian Clayton scored 48 not out.

Bradford Indians claimed their first win of the season with a one-wicket win over Great Horton Meths, despite the best efforts of Anthony Moss, who took 6-30 to leave Indians nine down when passing the Meths score of 69.

Hallfield lead GROUP D by 20 points after their win over Mayfield. Hallfield made 121-8, with Amher Imitaz scoring 41, before Moazzam Choudhary took 5-17 to dismiss Mayfield for 66.

YMCA are second after a seven-wicket win over Buttershaw St Pauls. Mark Davis took 4-14 as Buttershaw were all out for 66, YMCA passing the score with seven wickets down.

Allerton gained their first win of the season against Muff Field. Nadeem Amsar scored 83 not out in their 168 all out, Tanveer Hussain claiming a superb 8-58 for Muff Field. In reply Muff Field made just 88, with Rizwan Ali taking 6-24.
