The JCT600 Bradford League have opted for earlier starts in 2012 after a proposal from Pudsey Congs that was seconded by Windhill.

The league’s annual meeting at Pudsey Congs Cricket Club voted in 1pm starts up to the end of August and noon starts in September by 25 votes to 12.

In the 2011 season, matches from April 30 to August 14 started at 1.30pm, matches before April 30 and on August 20 and 27 began at 1pm and matches in September at either 12.30pm or noon.

However, an East Bierley proposal that was backed by Farsley to extend the maximum time for bowling 50 overs from 3hr 10min to 3hr 20min was rejected 26-10.

Attempts to alter the league’s bonus-point system have again failed. Congs, backed by Keighley, wanted a reward for sides dismissing their opponents for 70 or less.

The winners would then take the five unearned batting points but the proposal failed 29-4.

Woodlands wanted the winning side to earn 20 points and the losing side bonus points only. Seconded by Brad-ford & Bingley, it only gained 11 votes for and 25 against.

Rod Heyhoe, Ziarat Hussain and Brian Pearson are the club representatives on the management board, with Alan Carter representing the umpires.
