Having led the DIVISION ONE table for the whole of the first half of the Aire-Wharfe League season, Thackley found themselves deposed after losing to Otley.

Third-placed Otley had needed to get their challenge back on course after the previous week’s shock defeat to bottom side Rawdon and they gave themselves an opening by restricting Thackley to 176-9 (Adam Morgan 64), Nick Benton picking up 4-54.

Nasser Jamal (5-56) kept the leaders in the hunt, taking the first five Otley wickets, but then Michael Missett (57no) and Benton (64no) came together to clinch the win.

That allowed Bilton to go one point ahead of Thackley at the summit after they beat Rawdon by five wickets. Simon Kellett (39) and the consistent Andrew Doidge (35) helped Rawdon to 138 but that was never going to be enough to beat a side who have now won six of their last eight starts.

But the title remains wide open, with only nine points separating first from fifth, and Burley (215-9) kept themselves in the hunt by taking five points at Adel (155-9), with Ryan Cooper (53) and Nick Brook (4-20) leading the way.

Yasser Ali’s good form continued with a fine knock of 95 in Green Lane’s 215-8 but it wasn’t enough to stop Beckwithshaw climbing above them in the table.

Chris Wain picked up 5-72 as Collingham were bowled out for 244 in a relegation clash but, despite the efforts of Charlie Best (69) and Dave Pennett (49), Guiseley had to settle for two points and slipped into the bottom two.

Steeton continue to dominate DIVISION TWO, despite dropping a point at Calverley.

John Akrigg smashed 15 fours and five sixes in his 141, made off 134 balls, and with Mark Taylor adding an unbeaten 50, Steeton set a formidable 285-5 target.

Chris West, Gareth Lee and Chris Coates each came up with a half-century in reply but Calverley’s 206-6 was only good enough for a point.

Robbie Oldham (64) top-scored as Ben Rhydding kept up the pressure on the leaders by passing Olicanian’s 211 (Ed Brown 89) with eight wickets down.

Bolton Villas looked up against it when they were bowled out for 102 but Umer Yaqoob (5-39) and Sam Lawrence (4-37) had different ideas and skittled out Pool for 85.

Having languished in the bottom two for most of the season, Menston have suddenly found their form and – even facing a North Leeds total of 246-6 – managed to pick up their third win in a row, John Storey (74no) clinching the four-wicket verdict with a six.

Fawad Maqsood (54) top-scored in bottom side Tong Park Esholt’s 191, in which Andrew Bailey took 6-31. Bailey (38no) then shared an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 95 with Tom Cummins (50no) to steer Harden to victory.

Colton have looked one of the favourites to win promotion from DIVISION THREE for most of the season and looked on course for another win when they bowled out Silsden for 127.

But some devastating bowling from Matthew Shuttleworth (6-40) and Zarshad Khan (4-38) saw the home side home by 13 runs.

Johnny Johnson (58) took his runs tally in the last three matches to 223 as Addingham (200-8) inflicted only a second defeat of the season on high-flying Illingworth (152).

Faheem Bedford followed up a 5-76 spell with a knock of 79 as Hall Park (197-9) hung on for a point against promotion-chasing Ilkley (279-9).

Alex Bailey (117) and Rory Kroon (89) had given Ilkley a superb platform with an opening stand of 201 and Andrew Wheeler picked up five cheap wickets in Park’s reply but the last pair hung on seven overs for the draw.

Adam Mabb hit 89 in Horsforth’s 205 and Andy Robinson (7-15) picked up five or more wickets for the fourth time this season as hapless Alwoodley were skittled out for 33.

Sam Baldwin produced a 5-37 spell as Woodhouse were dismissed for 227 and Rob Walker (52no) made sure Skipton (192-8) held on to pick up two points.
