James Robson’s half-century helped bottom side Sandy Lane upset DIVISION ONE leaders Denholme by a single run in the latest round of Bradford Evening League fixtures.

Robson’s unbeaten 50 was ably supported by Anthony Heaton (29) as the visitors posted 118-7, with Ben Burkhill taking three wickets.

Gareth Marshall (51no) and Rob Wear (30) led Denholme into a good position but they could only manage a single when needing three to win off the last ball.

They finished on 117-5 as Sandy Lane claimed only their second win of the season.

Haworth Road moved joint top with Denholme after a 27-run win at Allerton. Their total of 150-6 proved too much for the home side, who lost nine wickets in a vain pursuit.

John Breare gained quick revenge for their loss to Thornton the previous week with a five-wicket victory that lifted them back above their opponents into third place.

Johnny Hudson took four wickets for only six runs to limit Thornton to 104-7.

Two early wickets had the hosts rocking but Thornton were left to rue missed chances as Faheem Bedford (53no) led his team to victory.

Scott Etherington (50no) and Paul Medley (32no) boosted Windhill to an imposing 155-4 at Bingley Congs.

Simon Bailey (52no) continued his good form in reply but Lewis Dean (4-22) imposed a stranglehold on the other batsmen and Congs were eventually all out for 115.

Apperley Bridge remain unbeaten at the top of DIVISION TWO after Mohammed Saleem (4-21) helped restrict Cambing to 97-8 in a six-wicket success.

Azad remain in hot pursuit after an emphatic win over Daisy Hill.

Kashif Ashraf (40) and Ali Zaib (38) helped to post a daunting 158-8, although Dax Sowrey emerged with creditable figures of 3-31.

Mohammed Shazad and Rafaqat Mehmood then both took three wickets as the home side were bowled out for just 68.

Bolton Villas continued their good form with a 21-run victory at bottom side Indian Panthers that left them in third position.

Chris Ramsden (53no) ensured that fourth-placed Queensbury overhauled Shelf’s 136-8 for the loss of just three wickets.

And Mayfield made it three consecutive wins as they completed the double over HSA, who were skittled out for 92 chasing a score of 104-6.
