Denholme have maintained their 100 per cent record in the Bradford Evening League First Division.

Chris Welch (45) and Ben Burkhill (43no) secured a six-wicket win over Baildon Meths with eight balls remaining.

Visitors Meths set a competitive score of 133-7, with Sean Kirtley making a fine 34.

However, the 2007 champions ensured that there were no slip ups as they look to get their name back on the trophy.

Haworth Road and John Breare remain only two points behind. Breare had a blank fixture due to Calverley’s withdrawal, but Haworth Road claimed a seven-wicket victory at home to Bingley Congs.

Having restricted the visitors to 109-6, Mohammed Altaf continued his fine form, making 43 in his team’s reply of 112-3.

Sandy Lane’s Brad Greenwood (3-9) posed problems for defending champions Thornton, but Ian Carradice (32) and Ross Soames (45no) helped their side to 127-6. This proved enough as Sandy could only make 93-5.

Skipper Chris Brown led from the front with a half- century as Allerton overhauled Windhill’s total of 101-9 for the loss of three wickets.

Windhill’s total was a fine effort as Allerton’s Baber Yaqoob produced an excellent spell of 4-11 to leave Windhill rocking at 33-5.

HSA lost for the second week running when Second Division leaders Apperley Bridge came to their Riddlesden ground.

Waqas Ahmed (36) top-scored in Bridge’s 154-6 off 16 overs. Mohammed Siraj then returned excellent figures of 4-18 to limit the home side to 129-8.

Azad leapfrogged Queensbury into second place when they passed their total of 118-5 for the loss of five wickets.

In an exciting game at Cross Roads-Daisy Hill’s splendid ground, the home side were indebted to Byron Greenwood (50no) as they chased down Shelf’s 115-6. Andy Lee (53no) was in fine form for Bolton Villas as they won by nine wickets at home to Mayfield, while Indian Panthers were dismissed for 113 in pursuit of Cambing’s 122 all out.
