Farman Bakes powered Girlington to the highest score in the first round of the H Broadbent Trophy.

The Bradford Mutual Sunday School League knock-out competition saw Girlington post 306-6 against Buttershaw St Paul’s, with Bakes crashing an unbeaten 157.

David Winter hit 67 in reply but St Paul’s were all out for 202, with Girlington next playing Salem Athletic after their five-wicket defeat of Allerton. Abid Hussain took 5-27 as Allerton were dismissed for 112.

Bradford Indians set up a tie against Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths after brushing aside Central YMCA by 90 runs.

Inder Kumar scored 103 as Indians closed on 237-9, Mark Saunders claiming 5-47, before Rachit Data’s 5-37 saw YMCA all out for 147 in reply.

BPR beat Mayfield by 38 runs and will next take on Cambing. Ibrar Hussain hit 50 in BPR’s 169 all out, Adam Beesley bagging 4-29, and Mayfield were dismissed for 131 as Fazar Zafar took 4-33.

Great Horton Church made comfortable progress as they beat Yorkshire LPS by eight wickets after hustling them out for just 89.

Saim Butt struck 42 for Church, who now play a Bradford Gymkhana side who defeated Muff Field by six wickets.

Habib Rehmand did the damage for Gymkhana with 4-20 as Muff Field were all out for 94.
