Sussex continued to pile on the runs during the morning session on day two of their LV= County Championship match against Yorkshire.
By lunch at Hove they had reached 411-3, having resumed on 295-2, with the only wicket to fall during 32 overs of play being that of Luke Wells for 174.
He was run out by Steve Patterson after a mix-up with batting partner Murray Goodwin.
It brought an end to a 304-run partnership for the third wicket, the highest ever against Yorkshire in Sussex’s history.
But Goodwin was still there at the interval on an unbeaten 181, with captain Michael Yardy on six.
