Ilkley face a crunch match against New Rover tomorrow and may have to risk dropping points in order to get the maximum advantage.

The two sides are locked together on 66 points, five behind joint Division C leaders Illingworth and Harden, who are a point ahead of Colton.

New Rover have the edge because they have won nine games against Ilkley's five and it is their failure to bowl sides out that has hampered Ilkley's hopes of winning promotion at the first attempt.

It might therefore suit them to have New Rover bat first, limit them to a modest score and then beat them in a run-chase.

It would mean Ilkley could get a maximum of two points from a drawn match but with Alex Bailey in top form with the bat, it is probably their best chance of winning.

The top three are all expected to win, Illingworth entertain bottom club Ben Rhydding, and in-form Colton will fancy their chances at Bolton Villas, who were well beaten by Harden last week.

Harden, who bounced back from their recent defeat by Colton, should be too strong for an Addingham team who have won only one of their last seven.

Skipton travel to Woodhouse with the chance to climb out of the bottom two, while Menston are at home to Alwoodley.

After two successive defeats, Division A, leaders Steeton need to get their batting back on track at Otley if they are to keep North Leeds and Kirk-stall Educational at bay.

Their 14-point lead has been pegged back to just eight and they can expect North Leeds to get maximum points at a Rawdon side who look doomed to relegation, and Kirkstall should be too strong for Pool.

Green Lane are at home to Adel and Burley entertain Follifoot, both sides knowing that victory will ensure their top flight survival, while nothing less than victory will do for bottom club Tong Park at Bilton.

Calverley have moved to within four points of Silsden's third place in Division B and could overtake them tomorrow with a victory at home to Bardsey.

Silsden travel to unbeaten Beckwithshaw, who know that victory will clinch promotion alongside Collingham, who are at Olicanian.

Horsforth can ease their relegation woes if they can beat second- from-bottom Knaresborough, while bottom club Thackley, who need a miracle to escape, are at home to Hall Park.

Upper Wharfedale entertain Guiseley, hoping to notch two wins in a row for the first time this season.

  • There is free entry to Sunday's Birtwhistle Cup final between North Leeds and Steeton at Beckwithshaw (2pm).
The second XI cup final started last Sunday, with North Leeds scoring 248 for two from their 45 overs. Steeton were five for no wicket when rain and bad light stopped play.
