This Sunday sees an intriguing Wynn Cup final take place between Bradley and Long Lee at Bradley (1.30pm).

The venue was chosen back in January so Bradley, like Oakworth last year, are playing on their own turf. However, their opponents Bingley Congs rolled the Cure Hill side over on that occasion.

The South Craven outfit are riding high on top of Craven League Division One and are appearing in their sixth final, having won the trophy twice, the last time being in 1990.

On the previous occasion to that, in 1986, current player Neil Robinson was playing as Bradley overcame Riddlesden by eight wickets at Upper Wharfedale.

That was also the venue when Long Lee made their only final appearance when they lost by six wickets to Gargrave. One of the Long Lee players that day, Craig Tempest, now plays for Bradley.

Division Two side Long Lee upset the odds in the semi-finals when they beat Haworth by 80 runs. Bradley put out one of the favourites, Cullingworth, before brushing aside Haworth Road by eight wickets at Baildon Bottom.

The hosts have a strong batting line-up, with Neil Andrews having recently registered his 22nd league century.

Sean and Nick Williamson can devastate any attack, as can Chris Simpson.

Their bowling attack includes the league’s leading wicket-taker Matt Simpson. Tim Rudden is having one of his best seasons for a long time and James Heseltine’s left-arm spin has had many a batsman in a quandary.

Long Lee have a batsman that can turn any game in Paul Stowell, as well as Richard Ayrton, who can blast attacks apart. Matt Taylor and Kenny Sejake are the all-rounders in the side, while bowler Jamie Robinson has vast experience, having played Bradford League cricket.
