Yorkshire advanced to 417-8 at lunch on day two of their County Championship match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Wicketkeeper Gerard Brophy completed the seventh first-class century of his career, only his second for Yorkshire.
But the Tykes, who were 325-4 overnight, lost Adil Rashid, Brophy, Azeem Rafiq and Steve Patterson during the morning session.
Brophy reached his ton off 168 balls with 15 fours but was caught at point by Ant Botha off the bowling of Rikki Clarke for 103 off 175 deliveries.
Rashid had been trapped lbw by Neil Carter with the second ball of the day, giving the bowler four wickets.
Clarke had Rafiq caught in the gully for 12, before Patterson was run out for 14.
Rich Pyrah, battling a bit of sickness, shared 45 for the eighth wicket before Steffan Piolet, who also caught Rafiq, ran out Patterson at the non-striker’s end.
Yorkshire physio Scot McAllister attended to Pyrah a couple of times during the last hour of the session but the all-rounder was well enough to advance to 39 not out off 67 balls.
