A damp, cloudy and blustery afternoon isn’t typical of July but some great scores were accumulated in the latest round of fixtures in the West Riding Sunday Council League.
Abaseen’s Umar Khan put 75 on the board, supported by Asad Bashir with 61 to rack up 235 in their rain-limited 26 overs.
Harehills replied like-for-like as Naveed Anwar (96) and Majid Rafiq (56no) pushed the total to 237.
First CC won the toss and elected to bat. Thanks to 50 from Basharat Hussain they made a total for 149.
Euro Windows put last week’s defeat behind them and with the help of Mohammed Mansha (63) won the match by finishing on 155-8.
A great team effort from Azeems saw them score 279-8 against luckless Shaadi Cards, for whom Saqib Hussain made a spirited 53 that was never going to be enough, as they were all out for 162.
Fiaz Akram kept up his excellent run, scoring 64 in AMCC’s total of 212-9. In reply, Kashmir struggled to 167 all out.
A double-booking mistake at Woodhall Playing Fields left the match between West Bowling Attock and Attock Sweet Centre unfulfilled, with the points awarded to Attock Sweet Centre.
