Yorkshire have lost Adam Lyth and Anthony McGrath during the afternoon session, but have still continued to dominate Warwickshire during the opening day of their County Championship match at Headingley.

Lyth and McGrath shared a second-wicket partnership of 148 in 39 overs to help their side advance to 192-3 after 64 overs at tea.

McGrath departed for 57 off 102 balls and Lyth 84 off 152, but Jonny Bairstow and Gerard Brophy have united to share an unbroken fourth wicket partnership of 38.

Both men were dropped just before they departed within the space of three overs to take their side’s score from 153-1 to 156-3.

Left-arm seamer Neil Carter has been Warwickshire’s best bowler of the day, and he added the pair’s wickets to his early morning capture of Jacques Rudolph.

McGrath was caught at first slip by Darren Maddy before Lyth was trapped lbw with a full delivery.

It has not been the easiest of going for Yorkshire, but Brophy and Bairstow have at least kept the momentum going.
