On a hot day, no less than six teams managed to top 200 runs in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League yesterday.

Muff Field finally won their first match of the season in Group A, defeating Bradford Gymkhana B by 82 runs.

Batting first, Muff Field scored 218-6, with Frank Powell top-scoring on 69 not out and Steven Broadbent contributing a 48, Anis Ashamed taking 4-66.

In reply, Gymkhana B were all out for 134, with Frank Powell completing a good day with 5-37 and Alan Broadbent taking 4-74.

Meanwhile, Bradford Gymkhana A were also dismissed for 134 in their shock defeat to Omars, who are next to bottom of the table.

Shezad Khalid top scored for Gymkhana with 54, Shibir taking 4-26 for Omars. Omars passed the total with seven wickets down, despite 4-23 from Tariq Hussain.

Leaders Cambing also suffered a shock setback to Heaton, who made the top score of the day with 291, Kamran Mir scoring 109 and Mohammed Naved 85. Cambing were then all out for 205.

It is as you were at the top of Group B as the top three sides all totalled over 200 runs.

Hallfield were at the summit with 290-9 against Buttershaw St Paul's who replied with with 67 all out.

Top scorer for Hallfield was Q Hameed with 68, A Khan and N Aslam taking four wickets each.

Heaton B scored 255-4, including a 139-run partnership between Mohammed Ali (102) and Husarm Khalid (72). Mayfield were all out for 166 in reply.

Third-placed Mandhata scored 274-6 against Great Horton Meths, Peyush Patel making 61 not out. Great Horton Meths then made 185, with Anthony Moss hitting 54.

Paul Cuthbertson scored 103 for Odsal, who defated Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths to move off the bottom of the table.

Odsal made 193-7, despite 4-49 from Josh Butterfield, and Daisy were all out for 105, Adam Hussain and Joe Deakin claiming five and four wickets respectively.

In Group C, Bowling Baptist opened up an eight-point gap at the top after they defeated Cambing by seven wickets, and second-placed West Bowling lost to Central YMCA by 49 runs.

Mohammed Tayyab took 4-20 as Cambing were dismissed for 105, Bowling Baptist passing their total with three wickets down.

Steven Totthill (44) and Nigel Benson (61) shared a partnership of 103 as Central YMCA made 185-6 against West Bowling, who were all out for 136 (Alex Stephenson 5-49).

Muff Field defeated Mayfield by one wicket after Stephen Honey took 5-46 and Stewart Morrison scored 52 for Muff Field.

Finally Bradford Indians moved up to third place after their win over Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths, Inder Khumar scoring 48 and Vijay Urmpati taking 5-28 for Indians.
