The youngster opened the batting at Allerton and retired after making a half-century, helping his side reach 157 for seven.

He then took three wickets, including the last man, to curtail the hosts’ valiant chase as they were dismissed for 137.

Denholme remain two points behind after their win at Indian Panthers. Ben Burkhill (46) and Chris Welch (35no) led the way in a total of 150 for five, the home side replying with 112 for eight.

Bingley Congs secured an eight-wicket victory over Windhill as excellent bowling by Paul Quinlan (3-14) and Scott Hartley (3-18) restricted the visitors to 99 for seven. Simon Bailey (42no) ensured there were no slip-ups in reply.

Baildon Meths’ difficult season continued as their 103 for seven was overhauled by Haworth Road for the loss of four wickets.

The clash of joint-leaders Calverley St Wilfrid’s and visiting HSA went the way of the home side in Division Two.

Paceman Gareth Lee took four wickets for a miserly 15 runs as HSA were bowled out for 98. Calverley had Jimmy Cave (26no) to thank as he held the reply together for a three-wicket success.

John Breare are level with Calverley after their 18-run win at Sandy Lane.

Daniel Gaunt and Sam Wade hit half-centuries in Bolton Villas’ 186 for five at bottom side Shelf. The hosts made a good effort of chasing down the required runs but eventually concluded on 163 for six.
