With Yorkshire’s new overseas signing Tino Best watching on, after finally arriving from the Caribbean, his new team-mates are in a spot of trouble at lunch on day two of their LV=County Championship clash with Kent.

After Tim Bresnan secured a first five-wicket haul in two years to bowl the hosts out for 317, Rob Key’s side have hit back to leave the Tykes on 76 for three at the interval.

Adam Lyth was the first to go when he was caught behind by Geraint Jones off Amjad Khan for just eight, before Joe Sayers departed for a duck to leave Yorkshire on ten for two.

Captain Andrew Gale, promoted up the order because of a slight thigh strain to Jacques Rudolph, then made 13 before he fell to Azhar Mahmood.

Fortunately, Rudolph was able to recover and he and Bradford-born Anthony McGrath made sure the hosts would have nothing more to celebrate before the end of the first session.

The South African is on 17, with McGrath unbeaten on 32 at the interval.

Best certainly seemed to enjoy himself in the Canterbury sunshine though as he watched on from the players balcony.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, Best says he wants to try and gain a longer contract than the one-month deal he is currently on by performing as well as he can.
