Burley face a real test of their credentials as potential Aire-Wharfe League champions on Saturday when they travel to North Leeds.

They made a solid start to the season with a nine-wicket DIVISION ONE win over Adel that saw Ian Frost and new skipper Mark Harrison hit early form with the bat and leading bowler Nick Brook back into the groove with five wickets.

Apart from a hiccup two years ago, Burley have been consistently in the top half of the table in recent years and would hope to build on last season’s fourth place with an eye on a first title since 1964.

But North Leeds, who finished third last summer, have been something of a bogey side for Burley in recent years, so this is just the kind of game they have to win if they are to be serious contenders.

It might be just the time for Harrison’s side to play North Leeds as they are reeling after being skittled out for 68 by defending champions Beckwithshaw last week.

Otley have the uncomfortable task of hosting the 2009 champions, while Thackley will hope to break their top-flight duck at Pool.

Green Lane will look for a first win at Adel and Guiseley entertain Rawdon, with both needing to improve on last week’s show.

After a winning start to their DIVISION TWO campaign, Bolton Villas will hope to mark their home debut with another victory against visiting Follifoot, who were less than impressive against Harden.

Olicanian, the other promoted side, face a tougher task at home to Illingworth, one of the teams expected to be in the promotion frame, while Harden should be too strong for visiting Knaresborough.

Tong Park Esholt will need to improve on their opening form at home to Calverley while Silsden host Steeton, with both sides looking to get off the mark.

Match of the day in DIVISION THREE sees Menston travel to Ben Rhydding, both sides having hit early form.

Ilkley will hope to get their challenge under way at home to Addingham, while Skipton travel to Woodhouse.

Both Horsforth sides are at home, Hall Park taking on Bardsey and Horsforth tackling a New Rover side who started impressively.
